Toha De Brant
Based in Brussels
Toha is an anthropologist, photographer and artist, interested in unravelling the general ideas and assumptions that represent places, peoples and cultures. She has a special interest in the way people relate to urban space and the social issues that arise within cities.
Her current work focuses on urban spaces in transition and sustainable living. She dives into the human relationships that arise within this context and the individuals that advocate for change in the way we relate to each other and the natural environment.
As an artist, analogue photography is the centre of her visual expression, most recently working with the cyanotype printing technique. It is an artistic tool that embraces imperfection and allows outcomes open for interpretation. She has experience with participatory photography in Belgium, across Europe and the USA.
